4th March Brownies

Today was a very special evening for us as we welcomed 23 wonderful members of the 4th March Brownies to the practice!

We kicked things off with our usual school-style presentation projected on the big screen, led by our lovely receptionist, Anne. She chatted with the group about the essentials of pet ownership, responsibility, and general pet needs.

Then our fantastic Registered Veterinary Nurse, Kristi, took them behind the scenes for a hands-on tour! Using our mock-up cat, Kristi showed them exactly what happens in our prep theatre, kennels, X-ray room, and bloods lab. They learned all about:

• Anaesthesia, taking bloods, and placing catheters

• Maintaining sterility in the operating room (with the Brownies interactively opening sterile drapes and instrument pouches!)

• How dental and full-body X-rays work

It was fantastic to see them so engaged and eager to learn about veterinary care. Thank you, 4th March Brownies, for visiting us—we hope you enjoyed seeing what goes on behind the scenes as much as we enjoyed showing you!
